Hello
Hi, I'm Heather ~ the hands, heart, & slightly chaotic mind behind Krafters MaddHouse.
I'm a self-taught jewelry artist with a love for gemstones, all kinds of beads, metalwork, & creating pieces that are a little different from anything else. Every piece you find here is handmade by me, from the first idea and gemstone selection to the final wrap, solder, clasp, & finishing touches.
Krafters MaddHouse is a place where creativity, faith, & a love for making beautiful things all come together, I'm so glad you found your way here! 🤍 ✝
My Story
It all started with a necklace.
After losing my mom in 2018, I went through a season of my life where I felt a little lost. Grief changed me. For a couple of years, I partied, struggled, searched, and tried to figure out who Heather was without her mom.
Then a friend gave me a necklace for my birthday.
It had a tree-wrapped onyx moon, and something about it caught my attention. I began learning about gemstones and the meanings people have connected to them. Before long, I was making stretchy gemstone bracelets for myself and my friends, choosing stones intentionally and creating pieces that carried a meaning for the person wearing them.
Those little bracelets started something much bigger than I realized.
I loved creating them, but I didn’t love watching them break. 😂 So I started asking, How can I make this stronger? How can I make it differently? That curiosity led me to wire, metal, different stringing techniques, and eventually an entirely new world of jewelry making. I taught myself through experimenting, testing, failing, trying again, and discovering techniques that worked for me.
And somewhere along the way, jewelry wasn’t the only thing being transformed.
When my mom died, I said I no longer believed in God. But my search for meaning didn’t end there. My journey took me through spirituality and Buddhism, and eventually, unexpectedly, brought me back to God. I came to know Jesus in a way I hadn’t before, was baptized, and began following the path I believe the Lord has been leading me toward all along.
Today, that whole journey has a place in my art. I love creating meaningful gemstone jewelry, exploring different styles and traditions, and especially creating pieces inspired by my Christian faith. I’m still learning—currently expanding into soldering and metalsmithing so I can make even more unique pieces—but wirework will probably always have a special place in my heart.
Krafters MaddHouse didn’t begin with a business plan.
It began with grief, a gifted necklace, a handful of gemstones, and a woman trying to find herself again.
And somehow, one piece at a time, I did. 💎💛
